Reggae Musician and radio broadcaster, Blakk Rasta has sharply criticized both Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta and his replacement, Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam.
Speaking on the Urban Blend show on 3FM, the well-known reggae musician and broadcaster expressed his dissatisfaction with how they have managed Ghana’s economy.
“It was a knee-jerk reaction, a rushed decision to bring him on. They never had the plan to make him Finance Minister, but by default, we saw Ken Ofori-Atta kicked out because of his abysmal performance,” he said.
He was particularly concerned about the impact on pensioners.
“In his tenure, we saw unprofessional haircuts meted out to our pensioners. Many of them visited early graves, some in unmarked graves.
“As we speak, their souls and spirits and ghosts will keep chasing Ofori-Atta. It will never be well with him until he comes to apologize fervently and passionately to the people of this country.”
Blakk Rasta accused Ofori-Atta of being arrogant, pointing out that he refused to resign despite many people believing that his policies were damaging the economy.
“We saw a pretending Finance Minister full of ego who would never step aside for the nation’s economy to become better. His own uncle, the president, encouraged him on his ego trip when the people were suffocating under his poor and irresponsible leadership.”
“He lied to us that a certain e-levy was going to save us from running to the IMF and the World Bank. But when it was passed in Parliament, what happened? Less than a week later, they still went ahead to the IMF, begging for billions of dollars.”
