“IT WON’T BE BUSINESS AS USUAL, ACCOUNTABILITY IS KEY” – President John Mahama Warns Government Appointees

President John Dramani Mahama has strongly cautioned prospective appointees, stressing that they will be held accountable to the highest ethical and professional standards.

Speaking at the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Service at the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA), on Sunday, January 12, 2025, Mahama urged those vying for public office to prepare for a demanding role that prioritizes integrity and responsibility.

“Anyone appointed to public office must understand that they will be held to the highest ethical and professional standards,” Mahama said. “For those sending me your CVs, be aware that it won’t be business as usual, and it’s not going to be an easy job.”

He emphasized that public officials must act as stewards of the nation’s resources and trust, placing the interests of Ghana above all else. Mahama reiterated the importance of integrity, accountability, and good governance as guiding principles for his administration.

“We will govern with the understanding that we are stewards of the resources and trust bestowed upon us by the sovereign people of Ghana,” he added.

The message highlights  Mahama’s commitment to ensuring a transparent and accountable government as he gears up for his leadership responsibilities.
