Legal expert and attorney, Maurice Ampaw, has refuted rumors that the court had canceled Afia Schwarzenegger’s bench warrant.
Political activist Kwame A Plus announced on his Facebook page in the wee hours of Wednesday that the judge has canceled Afia Schwar’s bench warrant. It is a falsehood, claims Maurice Ampaw.
Lawyer Maurice refuted the rumors in an interview with Wontumionline.com immediately after Kwame A Plus claimed in a Facebook post that the court had withdrawn the bench warrant.
Attorney Ampaw clarified the most recent development by saying that Afia Schwarzenegger’s attorney had requested with the court to suspend Afia’s sentence since she is ill, and the court has not yet made a judgment on that.
The Attorney General will decide whether Afia should pay a fine or serve her prison sentence, according to lawyer Maurice Ampaw.
Ampaw quickly added that Afia’s attorney had agreed to appear in court on December 15 so that the case could be resolved definitively.
