Ghanaian rapper M.anifest expressed disappointment over the police’s refusal to grant bail to Democracy Hub protesters detained on September 22, 2024.
On October 2, 2024, M.anifest posted on X criticizing the harsh actions of the police and rebuked certain Ghanaians for backing the police’s behavior.
He also voiced his discontent with the present situation in Ghana.
“It’s actually very alarming that you can be held without bail for exercising your right to protest. Even more concerning is your fellow Ghanaians agreeing with this blatant punitive measure under the guise of ‘law & order.’ E be your own people… until one day e reach dem,” M.anifest tweeted.
In a different tweet, the rapper expressed support for those at the forefront of the demonstration.
“Love to everyone on the frontlines and everyone amplifying. And to those poisoning the waters, literally and figuratively, posterity will have its say,” he tweeted.
