On her show, Egyaso Gyaso, which aired on Tuesday, August 1, 2023, Afia Pokua, also known as Vim Lady, a well-known TV personality, expressed her belief that the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) may be displaying signs that they could be ousted from government.

She noted that the NPP appears to be repeating the same mistakes that led to their defeat in the 2008 elections.

Vim Lady drew parallels to the past, emphasizing that before the NPP went into opposition after the John Agyekum Kufuor government, clear signs were evident.

“The indications are evident that with the actions of the NPP, they are heading towards opposition. We, in the media, are highlighting this, but if you mention it, you get labeled as an NDC member. Whenever a party is destined for opposition, the signs are always present. For instance, during President Kufuor’s time, the signs were apparent as early as 2006, 2007. The situation worsened with the chaos caused by Alan and Nana Addo during the party’s presidential congress, where money, clothes, and even last-minute dollars were being distributed,” she expressed in Twi.

Vim Lady further stated that the NPP might face opposition because they appear to be ignoring the concerns of Ghanaians.

She pointed out that while Ghanaians are struggling with unemployment, the Vice President, Dr Mahamudu Bawumia, is travelling around the country, boasting about digitalization.

These observations are Vim Lady’s opinions on the current political landscape, and she believes that the NPP’s actions may lead to unfavourable outcomes in future elections.
