Songstress Sista Afia is focused on achieving a well-earned victory at this year’s Telecel Ghana Music Awards (TGMA), having submitted her entries in four key categories.
“I filed for Highlife Song of the Year, Highlife Artist of the Year, Collaboration of the Year, and Best Female Artist of the Year,” she revealed on Hitz FM, monitored by MyNewsGh.
“I believe I deserve every single one of them.”
When asked which award mattered most to her, she confidently stated, “Best Female Artist. I’ve worked more than all the female artists in the country this year. It’s about time they give it to me, simple!”
The vocalist also paused to condemn artists who dismiss award nominations.
“I don’t like the idea of artists getting nominated and not posting about it. What is wrong with promoting yourself? What is wrong with pushing for an award you worked hard for?” she questioned.
Although she has been in the industry for ten years, Sista Afia disclosed that she has never received a Ghana Music Award.
“Ten years in the industry, and I’ve never won? It’s crazy!” she remarked. “Maybe I need to be friends with the right people.”
