When a former Groupe Nduom employee sobbed uncontrollably on live television about hardship, grown men in the Onua TV studios subconsciously began to cry as well.
Philip Sarpiah, a resident of Ablekuma in the Greater Region, claims that he was forced to abandon his child because he is unable to care for the child because life has become so agonizingly painful for him.
He continued by saying that he and his other coworkers who lost their jobs as a result of the banking sector clean-up had become incredibly destitute, to the point where some of them had even passed away from starvation and frustration.
He described how, on occasion, the widow of one of his departed colleagues calls him asking for financial support. Heartbroken, he said he is unable to help.
