John Dumelo, an actor, politician, and farmer, has started a new project called “Operation Feed Ourselves” to help fight hunger there.
John formally announced the project on his Facebook page.
The main goal of the effort is to increase food production across Ghana, particularly in Guan District and the Northern region, as well as other regions that produce tomatoes and onions.
The project also has a crucial role to play in inspiring Ghanaians to prioritize buying products that are “Made In Ghana” after they have been improved.
He expects the plan to cut imports of rice, tomatoes, and onions by 50% over the next six years. John Dumelo urged all essential players in the industry to fully commit to the project in order to help it achieve its predetermined objective.
“I’m happy to launch the “Operation Feed Ourselves” initiative this morning. The main focus of this initiative is to produce more foodstuff especially rice( from the Guan district and Northern parts of Ghana), tomatoes, onions and maize from other parts of the country. Another important aspect is to urge Ghanaians to add value to what we produce and consume Made in Ghana products. Hopefully this initiative will reduce our rice, tomatoes, and onions imports by 50% in the next 6 years. Lets us all join hands to make this work. It’s a great time to be a farmer. God bless you and God bless Ghana.
