John Dumelo, the newly chosen Member of Parliament for Ayawaso West Wuogon, has declared complimentary transportation for University of Ghana students heading home for the Christmas break.
This project, named “Travel Home with John Dumelo,” was posted on Dumelo’s official Facebook account. It provides complimentary buses to help students travel back to important locations including Kumasi, Ejisu, Konongo, Ho, Takoradi, Cape Coast, Winneba, and Elmina.
The buses are planned to leave on Saturday, December 21, 2024, from the parking lot of Volta Hall at the University of Ghana campus. This action follows closely after Dumelo’s win in the highly competitive December 7 parliamentary election, in which he overcame sitting MP Lydia Alhassan.
By offering complimentary transportation, Dumelo shows his dedication to assisting the residents of Ayawaso West Wuogon, especially students, as they get ready to celebrate the holiday season.
The initiative has received positive feedback and is regarded as a fulfillment of his campaign commitment to prioritize the well-being of youth in the area.
While John Dumelo is arranging buses for students to travel to their homes for the holidays, his rival, Lydia Alhassan, has chosen to discontinue the free shuttle service she was offering to students on campus.
Since then, she has been characterized as a self-serving woman who assisted the students due to her own needs them.
