JOHN MAHAMA SHOULD TREAT THE ANTI-LGBTQ BILL WITH THE SAME URGENCY AS THE E-LEVY AND OTHERS — Assin South MP, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour

Member of Parliament for Assin South, Rev. John Ntim Fordjour, has advised President John Dramani Mahama to treat the LGBTQ bill with the same urgency as the E-levy and other pressing national issues, emphasizing the importance of addressing it without delay.

This comes after President John Mahama assented to a series of legislative bills meant to abolish several taxes, including the Electronic Transfer Levy (E-Levy), Betting Tax, and Emissions Tax.

This move aligns with the National Democratic Congress’s (NDC) commitment to alleviating the financial burden on Ghanaians.​

A few weeks ago, John Ntim Fordjour challenged President John Dramani Mahama to demonstrate his commitment to proper family values by backing the private member’s bill seeking to criminalise LGBTQ+ activities, rather than introducing a separate government-sponsored bill.
