Security analyst Adib Saani says Kasoa has now become a hotbed for lawlessness, hooliganism and landguardism.
Speaking on Nyankonton Mu Nsem on Rainbow Radio 87.5FM, he said several people are wielding sophisticated guns in the area, and they will take you by surprise when you least expect it.
“That area of Kasoa and Millennium City has become hotbeds for hooliganism, lawlessness, and landguardism. We have complained about these issues several times. This is not the first time this has happened. They killed a chief in the area some time ago.
“Several people have been killed in the area due to landguard issues, and yet we have not done anything about it. On several occasions, they have killed people there. So, it is unfortunate that they have killed the soldier in that area,” he said.
He underscored the need for authorities to address land administration issues to help deal with landguardism.
He also indicated that, compared to previous years when soldiers were regarded and respected, citizens no longer respected them.
“The issue is attributed to the excessive use of soldiers for internal security, with every minister and state appointee being guarded by soldiers,” he added.
