KEEPING AFENYO-MARKIN AS MINORITY LEADER IN PARLIAMENT WILL OFFER 2028 ELECTIONS TO THE NDC ON A SILVER PLATTER—Asiedu Nketia

Chairman of the governing National Democratic Congress (NDC), Asiedu Nketia has called on the New Patriotic Party (NPP) to keep Alexander Afenyo-Markin as its leader in Parliament.

He believes that Afenyo Markins, in his role as minority leader, will assist the NDC in winning the 2028 election effortlessly.

Chairman Asiedu Nketia stated that his behavior inside and outside Parliament keeps causing further decline for the NPP, thus retaining him will benefit the NDC the most.

“I have to commend the NPP for keeping Afenyo Markin as their leader in Parliament. They should not change him because he is making a significant contribution to our course. He now serves as a campaign manager for the NDC, and his continuous existence in that position will offer the 2028 elections to the NDC on a silver platter,” he said in an interview on Ambassador TV.

Asiedu Nketia, addressing the reshuffle the NDC made in Parliament before the 2024 election, stated that the party recognized some deficiencies in Parliament and needed to act to improve its prospects.

He remarked that the New Patriotic Party (NPP) imitated them and altered their leadership, but they were unsuccessful since they did not grasp the rationale behind the decision they made, merely mimicking them.
