Ghanaian radio host, Nana Romeo from Accra FM, has ignited discussions in the entertainment industry after disclosing the astonishing amount demanded by award-winning artist KiDi for a one-night show.
In an interview with Zionfelix on the Uncut Show, Nana Romeo revealed that a family member of his had approached KiDi for a performance set for April 19, 2025, in the UK.
As stated by Nana Romeo, his sibling assigned him the responsibility of checking on KiDi’s availability and fees.
He mentioned that he was pretty surprised when he learned that the “Touch It” hitmaker asked for an astounding $20,000 for the single night’s performance.
Nana Romeo also mentioned that the $20,000 did not cover airfare or lodging expenses.
In his final comments on this matter, Nana Romeo also encouraged Ghanaian artists to exhibit some adaptability when working with event organizers, particularly those abroad.
“Most of these shows in the diaspora don’t bring in any profits for the organizers. They do it out of passion to promote Ghanaian music and culture. Our artists should sometimes take it easy on them,” he added.
