Several videos and pictures have been doing the rounds on Ghanaian social media over the past 12 hours, showing scenes of what looks like an engagement ceremony of Musician, King Promise.
The videos featuring prominent Ghanaian artists and public figures including Sarkodie, Joey B, Efia Odo, Killbeatz, among others were purportedly recorded at the country’s biggest star, King Promise’s traditional marriage wedding.
A closer examination of the images from the alleged marriage ceremony and further investigation by Nkonkonsa.com, has revealed that is not was not an actual engagement ceremony but rather scenes from the “Terminator” hitmaker’s yet to be released single.
Some celebrities on set with King Promise who spoke to Nkonkonsa.com, on condition of anonymity admitted that “It is a video shoot. Everyone on set knows that it is video shoot. Even the set designs and the decor shows that it is video shoot. Anyone who doesnt believe that it not a real marriage should just for the video to come”, the source said.
Meanwhile videos that we have found that the crew and some of King’s close friends have shared lead us to believe that that this is all just a video shoot and not an official event.
Another thing that also proves that the viral images is not an actual wedding is the fact that the face of King Promise’s supposed bride’s face was deliberately covered in all the videos and pictures shared on social media to protect her identity because she is just a model who acted as King Promise’s bride in the music video.
A number of social media posts made earlier by Soafrican a close friend of King Promise who was also on the set suggested that he was involved in the project’s artistic direction.
A post by Soafrican wrote “on set! on my creative director grind for the boy@iamkingpromise”.
