Hall week and SRC week festivities have been put on indefinite hold by the administration at Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology.
This is in response to a violent altercation that occurred on Thursday, August 18, 2022, between certain members of the University Hall (Katanga) and Unity Hall (Conti).
Although administration has established a committee to investigate the incident, they have also placed a temporary ban on any student gatherings.
The University will conduct random security checks of all visitors and vehicles entering and leaving the campus.
As a result of the unrest on Thursday, August 18, the KNUST Executive Committee made these decisions on Friday, August 19.
After a tense evening on Thursday, when students from University Hall and Unity Hall fought, the KNUST campus has returned to its usual level of peace.
