President John Mahama has nominated Member of Parliament for Buem Constituency Kofi Adams as Minister of Sports and Recreation.
The nomination was confirmed on Tuesday (21 January), when the third batch of ministerial appointments was announced for Parliamentary approval.
Kofi Adams, set to undergo vetting, takes the place of Mustafa Ussif, who held the position of Minister of Sports since 2021 under the New Patriotic Party led by Nana Akufo-Addo.
The 49-year-old, possessing a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology focused on the Epidemiology of Parasitic Diseases, has extensive experience in education and politics.
His political journey features various important positions, such as being the National Organizer of the NDC and previously acting as its deputy General Secretary.
