“KUAMI EUGENE DOESN’T RESPECT ANYBODY, HE’S THE INDUSTRY’S ‘SPOILT CHILD’’-DopeNation

Ghanaian musical duo DopeNation has publicly called out Kuami Eugene, describing the highlife and afrobeats star as disrespectful and arrogant, despite their past association under the same record label, Lynx Entertainment.

Speaking on 3 Music TV on July 22, 2025, DopeNation explained their distant relationship with Kuami Eugene, alleging that his attitude changed after he achieved fame.

“Every industry has that one person who feels he’s too famous, so he ends up not respecting anybody. He’s been handed everything and thinks he’s the ‘darling boy’. I know I’m speaking the truth, and a lot of people will agree with me,” they stated.

The “Zormizor” hitmakers went further, labeling Kuami Eugene as the industry’s “asshole,” suggesting that insiders have come to accept his behavior as an unfortunate norm.

“He’s sort of the industry’s ‘asshole,’ and you can’t do anything about it, so we have to accept him as he is. We knew him from the outside, but when we got in, that’s what we were told.”

They also challenged the public perception of Kuami Eugene’s friendliness, revealing that his so-called arrogance was a major reason for the lack of camaraderie among label mates.

“Once you meet him, you’ll get that arrogant attitude. The best thing is not to engage in instant conversation with him. In the studio, you have to stay in your space, he’s not your friend,” they asserted.

DopeNation accused Kuami Eugene of frequently “stealing” their musical styles and beats, but said complaints fell on deaf ears since they were all under the same management.

“A year passed, and whenever we made music, we noticed he would steal our style and beats. But you can’t complain because you’re on the same label. Even though he’s grown, he’s still tagged as a ‘spoilt child.’”
