KWAME A PLUS ACCUSES AKUFO-ADDO OF REJECTING 2012 PEACE INITIATIVE

Controversial political activist and musician, Kwame A Plus, has made startling allegations against President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo regarding his stance on peace initiatives during the 2012 general elections.

In a recent social media post, A Plus recounted an encounter with Nana Akufo-Addo, then the presidential candidate for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), where he sought Akufo-Addo’s endorsement for a call for peace and violence-free elections.

According to A Plus, he visited Akufo-Addo’s residence early one morning alongside the late Yaw Kwakye to request his support for the peace initiative. However, he claimed Akufo-Addo dismissed the proposal, saying, “he would not endorse foolishness.”

A Plus alleged that Akufo-Addo accused then-President John Atta Mills of controlling the police and military to intimidate voters and rig the elections. He further claimed Akufo-Addo advised him to seek peace from Atta Mills instead.

“The goal was for Akufo-Addo to be the first to endorse the peace initiative, countering claims from his opponents that he was violent,” A Plus explained.

In the same post, he challenged Mark Okraku Mantey, a prominent entertainment figure and Deputy Minister of Tourism, Arts, and Culture, to verify or refute the claims publicly.

“Mark Okraku Mantey, is this story true or false? If it is false, come out and tell everybody that I’m lying,” he wrote.

A Plus further accused Akufo-Addo of being responsible for the fatal incidents in Techiman during the 2020 general elections, where security forces allegedly opened fire on civilians. He called on the President to seek forgiveness from God for what he described as violent actions to cling to power.

“He’s the one who ordered the military to shoot people in Techiman during the 2020 election just to hold onto power. He should pray for God’s forgiveness to find peace within himself,” A Plus concluded.

As of now, neither President Akufo-Addo nor his representatives have responded to the allegations.
