LA STATE CAUTIONS AGAINST ONE WEEK CELEBRATION FOR DADDY LUMBA

A last-minute change to the location for Daddy Lumba’s one-week observance has been revealed by his family and management.

The ceremony has been moved to Accra’s Black Star Square (Independence Square), where a candlelight memorial was held weeks ago in his honor. It is still set for Saturday, August 30, 2025.

After a formal reminder from the La State Council, the observance was moved from its original location at the University of Ghana Stadium.

Council representatives announced at a news conference today in Accra that noise-making in the La Traditional Area is prohibited as of Monday, August 11, 2025, and will remain so until September 5, 2025.

The officials asked the family to think about moving or postponing the celebration because the original location was under their authority.

Instead of delaying, Daddy Lumba’s group decided to move. They assured followers in a public announcement that the date would not change, but they did mention the venue change.

“We sincerely apologize for any inconvenience this change may cause and appreciate your understanding,” the announcement read.
