LAGOS POLICE DENY ARRESTING REGINA DANIELS’ BROTHER, SAY OFFICERS FROM ABUJA CARRIED OUT THE OPERATION
Command Spokesperson States Arresting Team was on Official Assignment from the Capital with a Valid Warrant

The Lagos State Police Command has officially denied involvement in the arrest of Samuel Daniels, the brother of Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, stating that the operation was conducted by police officers dispatched from Abuja.
The clarification was provided by the command’s Public Relations Officer, Superintendent of Police (SP) Abimbola Adebisi, in a text message sent to Vanguard on Tuesday night. This statement aims to correct widespread social media reports that had attributed the arrest to the Lagos police.
According to SP Adebisi, the officers who made the arrest were on an official assignment from the capital. “The individual in question was not arrested by operatives of the Lagos State Police Command. The officers who effected the arrest came from Abuja with a duly signed arrest warrant,” the message read.
The spokesperson further explained that the suspect was only temporarily held at the Ogombo Police Division in Lagos as a logistical measure due to the late hour of the arrest, “pending further procedural action.”
The arrest is the latest escalation in the very public feud between the Daniels family and Senator Ned Nwoko, Regina Daniels’ estranged husband. The incident had been preceded by social media accusations from Lawrence Daniels, another brother of the actress, who had publicly held Senator Nwoko responsible for any harm that might befall his siblings.
As of the time of reporting, the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Police Command, which has jurisdiction over Abuja, has not issued an official statement regarding the reasons for the arrest or the specific allegations against Samuel Daniels. Attempts to reach the FCT command spokesperson, SP Josephine Adeh, for comment were unsuccessful.
