Ghanaian veteran actor, Van Vicker has come forward to explain the reason behind his absence in Lilwin’s highly anticipated film, “A Country Called Ghana.”
During a frank interview, Vicker clarified that conflicting schedules and persistent pressure from the film’s producer were the reasons behind his decision to pull out of the project.
Vicker stated that when he was first contacted by the producer, they asked about his availability for a 30-day shoot.
“I was willing to take the role,” Vicker shared, “but the producer’s demand for 30 days was unrealistic given my schedule. I proposed a compromise, offering to be on set for ten days instead.”
However, during that period, he was juggling his academic responsibilities and other projects, making it impossible for him to commit a full month to the film.
Although he was willing to discuss, Lilwin and the movie producer remained adamant about the 30-day stipulation, resulting in a deadlock.
After multiple unsuccessful discussions, he had no choice but to give up the role in the end.
In a surprising turn of events, Vicker revealed that Nigerian actor Ramsey Nouah, who starred in the film, was given the ten-day shooting schedule he had originally asked for.
“It was surprising to learn that Lilwin accepted a similar arrangement with Ramsey Nouah while rejecting my proposal,” – Vicker noted.
