LOVE IN THE CREATIVE INDUSTRY IS FAKE – Arnold Asamoah Baidoo

Broadcast journalist and entertainment analyst, Arnold Asamoah Baidoo, has questioned ideas of cohesion in Ghana’s creative sector, characterising the attachment frequently shown by industry stakeholders as flimsy and untrustworthy.
Speaking about his involvement in the Zylophone Media and EOCO dispute, Baidoo claimed that the incident revealed the real nature of connections in the creative industry.
“The love in the creative industry is not genuine, and I am saying this from experience,” he stated. “I honestly thought I was one of the loved people in the industry until the Zylophone EOCO issue happened.”
Arnold Baidoo claimed that his personal dedication to humility and years of favourable public response and praise for his work on radio and television were the sources of his faith in the goodwill of colleagues.
“I was getting applause, stellar commentary, and I always stayed grounded. I thought that feeling of love was mutual, until the issue came,” he said.
He claimed that rather than offering support, several of his colleagues misrepresented the case’s facts, resulting in publications that were harmful and deceptive.
“My own colleagues were twisting the story. There were publications claiming that Bulldog and I had changed car papers and stolen air conditioners. The story was half told,” Baidoo lamented on the YouTube broadcast, Gentlemen and Gentlemen.
He claimed that the ensuing public mockery, particularly from other media professionals, had a profound impact on him.
“When the media made a mockery of us, it really broke me. These were my own people. If anyone was going to hurt me, I never thought it would be them,” he added.
According to Baidoo, the encounter was enlightening and changed his perspective on business partnerships.
