President, John Dramani Mahama has embarked on an essential peace-building mission to Bawku and Nalerigu today, Tuesday, January 14, 2025.
The visit is a demonstration of the President’s steadfast dedication to addressing the long-standing conflict in Bawku, which has afflicted the region for many years.
While in the region, President Mahama is interacting with the conflicting parties and important stakeholders to encourage discussion and cultivate enduring peace.
His method highlights his commitment to tackling one of Ghana’s most urgent regional disputes via productive dialogue and inclusive resolutions.
“The President is determined to resolve the decades-old conflict in Bawku and will use the visit to engage the conflict factions and key stakeholders to promote dialogue to achieve lasting peace,” stated Felix Kwakye Ofosu, Acting Presidential Spokesperson.
The peace initiative embodies the President’s larger aspiration for a unified Ghana, where conflicts are resolved via diplomacy and shared understanding.
After finishing his commitments in the two communities, President Mahama will come back to Accra later today.
This visit emphasizes the administration’s commitment to peace, reconciliation, and development as key foundations of governance in 2025.
