Briefings on Security and Economy
During the meeting, ministers provided updates on critical national issues, including security and economic stability.
According to Mr. Kwakye Ofosu, the Minister for the Interior, Minister for Defence, and National Security Coordinator presented a security update, assuring that Ghana remains stable and that security agencies are prepared to handle any emerging threats.
On economic matters, Presidential Advisor on the 24-hour Economy & Accelerated Export Development, Goosie Obuadum Tanoh, briefed cabinet on the progress of the 24-hour economy initiative. He confirmed that preparations were advancing steadily, with a dedicated secretariat set to engage the public soon.
Additionally, Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson presented an economic report, describing the situation as worse than initially anticipated. However, Mr. Kwakye Ofosu stated that President Mahama and his economic team remain optimistic that the government’s proposed policy measures will stabilize the economy in the coming months.
