The Acting Spokesperson to President John Mahama has defended the President’s use of a private jet owned by his brother, Ibrahim Mahama, for official trips to Senegal and The Gambia.
Responding to public worries, Felix Kwakye Ofosu clarified that the private jet was available for the President’s use prior to the 2024 general elections.
He emphasized that this agreement does not place any financial strain on the Ghanaian taxpayer, since the jet was supplied free of charge.
He assured the public of President Mahama’s commitment to responsible financial management and awareness of Ghana’s economic difficulties.
Mr. Kwakye Ofosu also noted that the official presidential aircraft is presently being assessed by the Communications Squadron, the Air Force unit in charge of its operation, which required the interim use of the private jet.
“The most critical point is that this alternative arrangement has not in any way, shape, or form cost the Ghanaian taxpayer a dime.
