Samini, a Ghanaian Reggae and dance hall performer, has joined the world in mourning the untimely passing of Ghana football player Christian Atsu.
After his lifeless body was discovered beneath the wreckage of a terrible earthquake in Turkey last week, the former winger for Newcastle United, Everton, and Chelsea was confirmed to be dead.
The news of the passing of the former Chelsea and Newcastle United wideman has shocked and saddened the country of West Africa.
The former Chelsea and Newcastle player’s death was found after days of searching the building where he lived, according to the Ghanaian star’s Turkish agent.
Following conflicting reports regarding the winger’s location days after the earthquake that devastated the city where he lived, the football player’s family as well as the entire football community were put to extreme worry.
The footballer’s remains were accompanied from Turkey by his family and Ghana’s ambassador to Turkey, Francisca Ashietey-Odunton, Ghana’s foreign ministry said.
The plane landed at 19:25 GMT in Accra where it was met by relatives, government officials and representatives of the Ghana Football Association.
Samini used his Twitter account to express his grief following the delivery of Christian Atsu’s remains and to thank the government for committing to assist the family in providing Atsu a dignified send-off.
