MCE FOR BIBIANI-ANWHIASO-BEKWAI, ALFRED AMOAH AND HIS DRIVER DIE IN GORY ACCIDENT

Alfred Amoah, the Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Bibiani-Anhwiaso-Bekwai in the Western North area, and his personal driver were said to have perished in a horrifying collision on Tuesday night.

Samuel Gyasi has been named as the driver.

The collision, which apparently included several automobiles, reportedly happened in the Eastern Region at Apedwa close to Tafo.

A few hours after he and MCE Alfred Amoah split up following a meeting in Accra, the Western North Regional Minister, Richard Rocky Joojo Obeng, confirmed getting the tragic news but informed Graphic Online he had not yet been provided information of what actually transpired.

“He was with me this afternoon. He just left my company around 4:00pm. Yes, he was with me in Accra,” he said, indicating they were together at an official meeting.

A five-day retreat has been held for government representatives, including ministers and their deputies, metropolitan, municipal, and district chief executives, chief executive officers chosen by the president, and presidential employees, to discuss the national economy and review programs.

The retreat, which began last Friday, reviewed the cost-cutting measures announced at the most recent Cabinet meeting in March of this year and covered the numerous flagship programs of the administration as well as the justification for utilizing an IMF program.

According to online descriptions of the collision and photographs believed to come from the incident, MCE Alfred Amoah and his driver may have perished at the scene, while the occupants of the other cars were transferred to the Kibi government hospital for treatment.
