A military officer is said to have died and several others were injured following an incident in Saka, a neighbourhood of the Bawku West District in the Upper East Region.
As per witnesses, the officers were en route from Bawku to Bolgatanga in an armoured vehicle when a tyre exploded.
This led the driver to lose control, causing the vehicle to flip over, resulting in the immediate death of one soldier.
Several residents hurried to the location to help the injured.
The injured officers have been taken by the police to Zebilla District Hospital for medical care.
In the meantime, the body has been placed in the hospital morgue for safekeeping.
