A soldier identified as Williams Mensah has been taken into custody after CCTV footage showed him physically assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer near Burma Camp in Accra.

The Military Police have arrested soldier Williams Mensah after a viral CCTV video captured him physically assaulting a pharmacy attendant and a female customer in a shocking incident that occurred near Burma Camp on Wednesday.

The footage, first shared by GhOne TV and widely circulated on social media, shows the soldier—dressed in civilian clothing in a heated confrontation with pharmacy staff before slapping both an attendant and a female customer who attempted to record the altercation.

According to reports, the incident began when Mensah demanded a refund of GHS 65 for medication he had previously sent someone to purchase. When staff explained that refunds couldn’t be issued for opened medication, he became enraged and launched the attack.

In a subsequent video shared online, the same soldier is seen being escorted by Military Police personnel into a vehicle, confirming his arrest in connection with the assault.

The incident has sparked widespread condemnation on social media, with many users calling for the soldier’s immediate dismissal and prosecution. The Military Police’s swift response demonstrates the institution’s commitment to maintaining discipline and accountability within its ranks.
