MOHAMMED KUDUS FACES POSSIBLE 6-GAME SUSPENSION FOR KICKING AND SLAPPING OPPONENT

It is probable that West Ham player Mohammed Kudus will receive a prolonged suspension for receiving a red card during the 4-1 defeat in the London derby against Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday, October 19, 2024.

Kudus received a red card in the 86th minute following a confrontation with Tottenham defender Micky van de Van. He struck the defender on the ground and landed a blow to his face.

Former Referee Mike Dean suggests that this could result in a significant suspension for the 24-year-old midfielder.

Dean suspects that Kudus’ actions may result in a longer punishment from the Football Association.

In the usual situation, receiving a red card for a violent act would result in missing West Ham’s next three games, but the ex-Premier League referee is proposing that an additional retrospective ban may be given.

“When you see the footage back, the first one he could have got sent off for, which hopefully he has.

“Hopefully the second one the FA will then take retrospective action so he’ll get done twice in my opinion because he’s hit two different players in the face on two occasions,” Dean said on Sky Sports after the match.
