MORTUARY WORKERS DESERVE THE RIGHT SALARY — Sarkodie On MOWAG’s Impending Strike

Award-winning rapper, Sarkodie has reacted to the impending strike by mortuary employees, highlighting the crucial yet challenging nature of their work.

Sarkodie responded to reports that the Ghana Mortuary Workers Association (MOWAG) would be announcing a statewide strike on November 29 owing to unresolved concerns in an X post that this portal saw on Friday, November 24.

The singer stressed that although some services may be provided by the general public without much difficulty, mortuary labour is an essential function that society cannot function without.

“This will affect us heavily…Yes, I wouldn’t want a strike especially from “them” but I understand…this is one of
the underrated/underpaid jobs yet one of the hardest and riskiest jobs. They deserve the right salary, equipment
and environment to work effectively,” read his post.

His remarks coincide with MOWAG blaming the industrial action on several unsolved issues regarding their working circumstances.

In Ghana, mortuary services could be affected by the upcoming strike if the issues are not resolved quickly.
