The founder and leader of the Movement for Change, Hon. Alan John Kwadwo Kyerematen, has extended heartfelt congratulations to former President John Dramani Mahama and the National Democratic Congress (NDC) for their significant victory in Ghana’s 2024 General Elections.
In a press release issued on December 8, 2024, Hon. Kyerematen acknowledged the apparent outcome of the elections, even as the Electoral Commission is yet to make an official declaration. He noted that the will of the Ghanaian people has been expressed and called on citizens to respect the verdict of the electorate once formal results are announced, emphasizing the need to maintain peace in the country.
“I urge all Ghanaians to accept the decision of the Ghanaian electorate once the official results are released, in order to preserve the peace of our dear nation,” the statement read.
Hon. Kyerematen also commended all presidential and parliamentary candidates for their exemplary conduct during the elections, which he described as one of the most peaceful in Ghana’s history. Additionally, he extended condolences to the family of the individual who reportedly lost their life during the elections and expressed sympathy for those who sustained injuries.
In a unifying message, Hon. Kyerematen stressed that the true victor in this election is Ghana, which, he stated, has emerged stronger through the grace of God.
