Ex-Black Stars player, Derek Boateng has revealed that he was raised in a household with only one parent.
During a heartfelt interview with Fiifi Pratt on Kingdom FM, Derek Boateng revealed that he never witnessed his parents together at home as they had already separated.
Derek Boateng stated that although he was aware of his father’s existence, his father was absent during his childhood as he had moved on to start a new family after divorcing his mother.
Derek Boateng recounted his unfortunate story, revealing that his mother prevented him from assisting his father once he began earning money.
Even though his mother cautioned him, he continued assisting his father until his passing three years ago.
As anticipated, his mother was displeased with his choice to support his father financially, however, he felt compelled to do so out of love for his father despite his lack of care.
