MY DREAM IS GRADUALLY TRANSFORMING INTO REALITY – Osarfo Anthony Speaks After Appointment As Judge For US Presidential Service Center Film Festival

Ghanaian screenwriter and entertainment journalist Osarfo Anthony is on the verge of achieving his dream of becoming a respected screenwriter in Hollywood and the international film industry.

Anthony views his new role as a judge for the 2024 US Presidential Service Center (USPSC) Film Festival as a significant step toward realizing his dream.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with 3News, Osarfo stated, “This opportunity holds immense significance in my journey to become a screenwriter in the esteemed Hollywood and global film industry.”

“My dream is gradually transforming into a tangible reality, as I am now privileged to engage with judges who are distinguished producers, filmmakers, and development executives from various countries and cultures,” he stated.

As a judge for the 2024 USPSC Film Festival, his new responsibilities include collaborating with judges from around the world to thoroughly assess and rank all submissions, ultimately determining the winners, finalists, and runners-up.

Osarfo Anthony views this new responsibility as highly significant, as it marks a major achievement in his professional journey.

He revealed that, despite the rigorous and highly competitive application process, he remained optimistic and confident about securing the position.

He encouraged Ghanaian screenwriters to strive to transcend the borders of their country.

“Their scope should extend beyond Ghana or even the African continent. Despite never having set foot in America, I have garnered numerous accolades there while residing in Ghana. Similarly, despite not having travelled to Europe, I have secured sponsorship for a writers’ retreat. These achievements stem from my visionary approach of transcending my comfort zone,” he stated.

In addition to his judging role, he has also achieved success in various genre-friendly competitions, placing and winning awards for:

WINNER, Best Original Screenplay – Hollywood Blood Horror Festival.

WINNER – Best Supernatural Horror Script – Hollywood Horrorfest.

WINNER – Best Horror Screenplay – Hollywood Just4shorts Film and Screenplay Contest.

FINALIST (twice) – 13Horror.com Film & Screenplay Contest.

FINALIST Horror/Thriller category – Creative World Awards (CWA).

SEMI-FINALIST – Los Angeles Crime and Horror Film Festival.
