President John Dramani Mahama has stated that his battle against corruption goes beyond reclaiming stolen funds from former appointees.
He claims that he will ensure his appointed officials serve the people of Ghana with responsibility.
President John Dramani Mahama revealed this while reporting to the citizens of Ghana after his first 120 days in office.
“As promised, my commitment to fighting corruption is not limited to recovering loot from past appointees. We will also ensure that our own appointees serve Ghanaians responsibly and are held to the highest standards of accountability,” he said.
The President stated that over the years, public confidence has diminished as appointees consistently buy state assets after completing their terms in office.
He stated that the code of conduct for his government prohibits appointees from acquiring public property either directly or indirectly while serving in their positions.
