Nicholas, a 35-year-old educator who voted for and campaigned for the New Patriotic Party (NPP), the party that went on to win the 2020 presidential election, claims he is in danger because of his political activity.
According to Ghbasecom, he blames his NPP campaign for making people feel like he shares responsibility for their present financial woes.
Whenever Nicholas leaves the house, he puts on a nose mask and a hat in case he is followed and assaulted.
During an interview with TV3’s Armstrong Alogbor, he said, “My greatest issue is the danger.” When I go out in public, I have to conceal myself by wearing a nose mask and, on sometimes, a cap.
“Sometimes, I will be in the room, Friday, Saturday, Sunday without going out because I am afraid if I step out I don’t know what will happen to me. The moment they see you they are angry and they want to beat you because you are part of the reasons why they are suffering. Sometimes they will call you and threaten you.
“Sometimes my wife will [tell] me, when [I] am going and [I] have the money I should take take Uber and go out.”
He further indicated that he was paid ¢300for the billboard advert he did for the party.
“I was paid ¢300 for that billboard,” he said.
