Senator Ned Nwoko has publicly addressed the swirling rumors of trouble in his marriage to Nollywood actress Regina Daniels, alleging a concerted campaign by his enemies to destroy his reputation through her.
In a press statement, the politician claimed a “syndicate of pull-down-Ned” campaigners is exploiting his wife to tarnish his image. He defended his marriage, stating it was conducted honorably according to traditions that do not frown upon polygamy.
“What I did was to marry her honourably, give her a name, and treat her with dignity,” Nwoko stated.
Pushing back against social media speculation, he portrayed himself as a devoted husband. “Beyond the social media lifestyle, my world revolved around Regina. I pampered her and cared for her deeply, something everyone who has worked with me in Delta, Abuja, and elsewhere can attest to,” the statement read.
Nwoko lamented that his wife has become the primary vector for attacks from his rivals. “It is disheartening to read all the filth being spread online. As the saying goes, when a wall cracks, the lizard finds its way in. Regina has become a weak point through which my political and personal enemies have been attacking me,” he added.
The Senator concluded by framing the situation as a political witch-hunt, alleging the smear campaign is designed to hinder his development projects and tarnish his position as a Senator.
The statement comes amid intense public debate about the marriage, which has been further fueled by Regina Daniels’ own recent social media posts and allegations from her family. The situation has escalated beyond online rumors, with Regina previously alleging her husband was behind the arrests of her siblings following her refusal to return to their home.
