OPHELIA CROSSLAND APPOINTED AS NEW CREATIVE DIRECTOR OF NINETEEN57

In a thrilling development for Ghana’s fashion scene, renowned designer Ophelia Crossland has formally taken the helm of Nineteen57, the legendary menswear label established by her spouse, Kofi Okyere-Darko (KOD).

This shift comes after KOD’s recent designation as Director of Diaspora Affairs at the Office of the President—a distinguished national position that underscores his ongoing contribution to Ghana internationally.

In this new era of public service, the leadership of Nineteen57 has now transitioned to Ophelia Crossland, who will oversee both the daily operations and the brand’s creative direction.

Ophelia Crossland, the CEO and creator of her namesake womenswear brand, has more than ten years of experience in high-end fashion.

Recognised for her meticulous attention to detail and expertise in haute couture, her guidance is anticipated to lead Nineteen57 into a new phase—one that merges classic African elegance with contemporary tastes for the fashionable man.

“Nineteen57 has always stood for bold sophistication and African excellence,” said Ophelia Crossland. “I’m excited to build on that legacy and explore new creative horizons with the team.”

The shift signifies a pivotal point for the fashion duo—Ophelia stepping into the creative forefront of fashion advancement as KOD assumes his new diplomatic position serving the country.

Collaboratively, they persist in enhancing Ghana’s visibility in both fashion and governance.
