Namibia’s Minister for Agriculture, 59-year old Mac-Albert Hengari has been remanded in police custody after being denied bail for allegedly raping a 16-year old girl in 2019.
The lawmaker was arrested on Saturday whilst allegedly attempting to bribe the victim, who’s now 21 years old, with $12,200 for the case against him to be withdrawn.
He now faces multiple charges including kidnapping, rape and assault in relation to the case which has been adjourned until 3rd June 2025
