Presidential candidate of the National Democratic Party (NDP), Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings has not withdrawn from the December 7, 2020 presidential race.
The flagbearer of the National Democratic Party (NDP) and wife of former President Jerry John Rawlings has bowed out of the election 2020 race.
Shocking as the news may seem, particularly with just fourteen (14) to the general elections, Peacefmonline.com is reliably informed that her decision could be linked to the death of her husband, former President Jerry John Rawlings.
The former president died after a short illness at the Korle Bu Teaching Hospital on November 12, 2020.
Mrs Rawlings is among the 12 personalities who qualified to contest the presidential elections after the EC’s rigorous assessment process.
She is one of only three females on the ballot in the running to govern the country.
Sources say the NDP flagbearer has already informed the EC ahead of her decision which is expected to be publicly announced by close of today.
Wife of former President Jerry John Rawlings will hold a press conference today, Monday 23, 2020 to address his death.
Nana Konadu Agyeman-Rawlings, who doubles as the founder and presidential aspirant of the National Democratic Party, will also in the briefing state the way forward for the party.
The core message will surround the party’s 2020 campaign as the election comes off 15 days from now.
The event is expected to be held at the Alisa Hotel.
