Otumfuo Osei Tutu II Pledges Full Support for Funeral Arrangements

The family of the late former First Lady, Nana Konadu Agyeman Rawlings, has officially informed the Asantehene, Otumfuo Osei Tutu II, of her passing.
The delegation visited the Manhyia Palace on Monday, November 3, 2025, to formally break the news of Mrs. Rawlings’ death, which occurred on October 23, 2025, at the Ridge Hospital in Accra.
The Asantehene received the family and expressed his profound condolences. He commended the late former First Lady for her distinguished service to Ghana and her lifelong, unwavering advocacy for women’s empowerment.
Otumfuo Osei Tutu II also pledged his full support and the support of the Asanteman traditional council towards the organization of her funeral, ensuring she is accorded a dignified farewell.
Nana Konadu, the wife of the late former President Jerry John Rawlings and founder of the influential 31st December Women’s Movement, is widely remembered for her unwavering dedication to social justice, leadership, and national development. The one-week commemoration in her honour was held on October 30.
