NDC MUST PLAY THEIR CARDS VERY WELL WITH THE OWUSU BEMPAH ISSUE, OR ELSE IT MIGHT BACKFIRE — Vim Lady Cautions Mahama

Renowned radio host Afia Pokua, also known as Vim Lady, has commented on the significance of Mahama’s interactions with the clergy as the December 7 election in Ghana draws near.

John Dramani Mahama, the ex-president, has shifted his attention to the Christian community, attracting attention with his outreach endeavours. His choice to interact with influential Pastors has sparked a vibrant discussion, particularly after a meeting that some view as a strategic manoeuvre to strengthen his backing from Christian voters.

In a broadcast on Okay Fm monitored by MyNewsGh.com, Vim Lady questioned his choice to involve pastor Owusu Bempah in his plan, worrying that it might isolate other important allies in the religious sector.

Vim Lady’s analysis highlights the complex interplay of loyalty, strategy, and influence that characterizes Ghanaian politics, especially leading up to an upcoming election.

“What Mahama is doing these 61 days left for the December 7 election is to win the Christians to himself, and he’s being very strategic,” she remarked, emphasizing the importance of the Christian vote in determining electoral outcomes.

But her support quickly turned into wariness when she pointed out the potential negative repercussions of Bempah’s participation.

“If you are a die-hard NDC supporter like Nigel Gaisie and Badu Kobi, you’ll be peeved,” she observed, highlighting the enduring faithfulness these pastors have demonstrated towards the National Democratic Congress (NDC). Their commitment is very different from the fickle nature of political loyalties, which can change quickly to gain power.

As internal conflicts escalate, Vim Lady’s analysis highlights the tricky tightrope Mahama must walk to keep his loyal followers.

“NDC must play their cards very well with the Owusu Bempah issue, or else it might backfire,” she warned, underscoring the potential ramifications of alienating loyal supporters.
