NDC’S “ENOUGH IS ENOUGH” DEMONSTRATION UNDERWAY ACROSS ALL 16 REGIONS

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) has kicked off its nationwide “Enough is Enough” demonstration, with protests currently underway in all 16 regions of Ghana. The demonstration is aimed at demanding transparency and fairness in the ongoing voter registration process for the 2024 general elections.

The protest in the Central Region has seen a significant turnout, with placard-bearing NDC members marching through the streets to express their concerns. Heavy police presence has been observed across various regions, including Takoradi, where law enforcement officials are maintaining order as the protest unfolds.

Key NDC figures, including National Chairman Johnson Asiedu Nketiah and MP for Ningo Prampram Sam “Dzata” George, have already arrived at major demonstration points, including the Obra Spot in Accra. Asiedu Nketiah’s presence underscores the party’s commitment to ensuring that the upcoming elections are conducted transparently.

Rev. Abraham Larbi, a prominent voice at the demonstration, criticized the credibility of both the Christian Council and the Peace Council, stating that they should “bow down their heads in shame” for failing to uphold what he sees as their moral obligations during this critical time.

The NDC has called for this protest as part of its ongoing efforts to address what it deems as discrepancies in the voter registration process. The party fears that if these issues are not addressed, they could jeopardize the integrity of the 2024 elections.

Protests are also being closely monitored in Accra, where top executives of the party have gathered, continuing the call for electoral transparency. The demonstration, which has garnered wide attention, has been covered extensively by media outlets, with #EnoughIsEnoughDemo trending across social media.

More updates will follow as the protests continue throughout the day across the country.
