Counselor Charlotte Oduro has warned men not to borrow money to finance their wedding ceremonies.
She stressed the importance of a man using his available funds to have a simple ceremony instead of borrowing money for a lavish event.
She further stated that opting for a loan during this time could lead to unnecessary stress for the couple as they embark on their new life together, suggesting that it is best to steer clear of this option.
During an interview on Okay FM, counsellor Charlotte expressed her opinion that women who allow their partners to borrow money for wedding ceremonies are not marriage material, as they should discourage such actions.
“Never take out a loan to marry a woman, and any woman who accepts the idea of her partner securing a loan for marriage is not suitable for marriage. A loan for what? Then you end up crying later?
“Let the man use the money he has to marry you. Don’t pressure yourself because you want to marry a particular woman. You are just starting your life, so such an idea won’t help,” she said in Twi.
