NEW FORCE SUSPENDS NANA KWAME BEDIAKO’S BODYGUARD AFTER VIRAL ASSAULT VIDEO, ENROLLS HIM IN ANGER MANAGEMENT

The New Force Movement has suspended Andy Acheampong, popularly known as “Seven,” the bodyguard assigned to 2024 presidential candidate Nana Kwame Bediako, following a widely circulated video showing him physically assaulting a man during a funeral in Asante Mampong, Ashanti Region.

The footage, recorded on June 7, 2025, captured Acheampong delivering multiple punches to a man who was reportedly attempting to approach the candidate during the burial rites of the late Mamponghene and Krontihene of Asanteman, Daasebre Osei Bonsu II.

In an official statement issued on June 8, 2025, and signed by Charles Yomekpe, General Secretary of the New Force Movement, the party condemned the incident as “regrettable” and confirmed the suspension of Acheampong from all duties pending an internal investigation.

“As widely seen in a circulating video, Mr. Acheampong was captured using unjustifiable force against a supporter who was attempting to approach and speak with our presidential candidate,” the statement said.

The New Force reaffirmed its commitment to peaceful democratic participation and explicitly rejected any form of violence.

In an effort to address the misconduct and prevent future incidents, Acheampong has been enrolled in a four-hour anger management course. Verification from the North American Learning Institute confirmed his official enrollment on June 7, 2025.

“Our movement is founded on respect, engagement, and peaceful democratic participation,” the statement concluded.
