NEWS ANCHOR NATALIE FORT RESIGNS FROM TV3

News anchor Natalie Fort has resigned from television channel TV3.

In a notice posted on her social media channels, Ms Fort expressed gratitude to the operators of the channel for giving her the opportunity to kickstart her media journey.

She posted: “RESIGNATION NOTICE | As I resign from TV3 with effect from 5th April 2021, I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to the Management of Media General for an incredible 4 years with the firm.

“I am grateful for the platform to kickstart my Media journey, the opportunities granted me have been transformative; and to my colleagues, I’m honoured to have learnt from such an experienced team”.

Ms Fort first joined TV3 in October 2015 without experience and training in journalism or news anchoring.

She was made an anchor for the network’s five-minute on the hour news bulletin and was also selected as the anchor for the 15-minute Business News segment on TV3’s breakfast show. Before her resignation, she was one of the faces of the station’s primetime daily news bulletin at 7 pm.

Controversy

It will be recalled that in September 2019, Ms Fort filed a defamation suit against seven news portals for alleging that she was pregnant “for four married men”.

In the defamation suit filed at the Accra High Court against Ghana Celebrities, Yen Ghana, Ghanaweb, GH Page, Ghana Slayers, Netbuzz Africa and Peace FM Online, Natalie Fort asked the court should restrain the online portals from further publishing the defamatory words.

She also sought an order for the removal or deletion of the defamatory content.

The online portals in their various publications according to the TV3 news presenter in her writ, alleged that she was pregnant for four married men including an NPP politician and that was why she had taken a leave of absence.

Two of the news portals Peace FM Online and Ghana Slayers in August 2020 apologised to Ms Fort over the publications.

In an earlier explanation, Natalie Fort said the leave had nothing to do with a supposed pregnancy but she was furthering her education abroad.
