Ghanaian musician and producer, Raphael Camidoh has reiterated the importance of stakeholders in the Ghana music sector investing significantly in creating high-quality music, particularly in video production.
He was reacting to remarks about the Nigerian music industry prospering more than Ghana’s music scene.
During an interview with Melvin Da Enigma on Luv FM, Camidoh discussed how individuals in the local music scene put minimal effort into their work.
He observed that Ghanaian music investors show little interest in investing in artists, as well as their music videos and promotional materials.
“But in Nigeria, their budget for shooting a music video is massive, if one takes a look at their budget, it can be able to shoot a Ghanaian film,” he said.
Camidoh thinks that investors in the Nigerian sector have recognized the potential and profits that are lacking in the local industry.
While there is growth in the local area, he suggests that there is potential for increased activity by following the example of their peers in Nigeria.
