The Minister for Communications, Digitalisation, and Innovation, Hon. Sam George has warned Ghanaians about deceptive job offers purportedly from government officials, stressing that no MP or minister will ever contact individuals on social media to provide job opportunities.
He disclosed that earlier in the day, he personally handled a case of impersonation, where an individual was wrongly utilizing his identity to propose immigration job opportunities in a speech made on the parliament floor.
He encouraged the community to stay alert and prevent themselves from becoming targets of these scams.
“Let’s use this opportunity to state emphatically that no Member of Parliament or minister of state will reach out to you on social media to offer you a job. Any such approach is a scam,” he declared, stressing the need for public sensitization.
