The former long-serving Member of Parliament for the Suame Constituency in the Ashanti Region of Ghana, Honourable Osei Kyei Mensah Bonsu, confessed that he was aware prior to the December 7th elections that the NPP would be defeated.
He stated that he reached this conclusion after observing the absence of excitement their campaign was producing before the elections, indicating that Ghanaians were tired of the NPP.
In an interview on Nhyira FM in Kumasi, the former Minister of Parliamentary Affairs stated that the absence of enthusiasm was especially noticeable in the initial phase of the campaign.
He mentioned that they managed to create a little more excitement, which ultimately made their defeat seem somewhat improved.
Mensah-Bonsu stated that if the elections had occurred in August, the NPP would have faced a loss by an even more significant margin than the notorious 38.2% that people use to mock them.
