Communications Director for the National Democratic Congress (NDC), Sammy Gyamfi, has urged the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) to be patient with their critique of the new government.
He states they will remain in opposition for quite a while, so it is essential they master the skills necessary to effectively remain in opposition.
Sammy Gyamfi was sharing his views on the discussion regarding the necessity of a Hajj Village in Ghana.
“The NPP should understand that they have now come to the opposition. Four years will come right now, but it will not be easy. They should take their time because they will be in opposition for a very long time,” he said.
The Director of Communications for the NDC stated that the Hajj Village is not a project of the Ghana government, but rather an initiative by the Airport Company Limited aimed at generating revenue from pilgrims and other users of the facility.
“The Muslim pilgrims will use the Hajj village for just six weeks in a year, but the village being constructed has shops, offices, and a sports complex, which will generate revenue for the Airport company, so I don’t see why the complaints. John Dramani Mahama has not used state funds to build any church or a Hajj Village it is the Airport Company which is constructing their village,” he said.
